Pursuant to the Public Hearing held on May 9th, 2019 at 7:00 PM, the Board of Supervisors of the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District met in a Special Meeting held May 9th, 2019 at 7:15 PM to adopt the Rules and Regulations 19-01. A copy of the revised rules and application will be available on the District website and at the District Office.
Please note that all permit applications submitted after May 9th, 2019 will need to use the new application and will need to follow the new rules.

At the Special Board Meeting on April 29, 2019 at 8:00 AM, the Board of Supervisors of the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District voted unanimously to accept the bid from WadeCon, LLC for the Harvey Channel Recovery, Phase 1 – Cane Island, Bartlett Ditch Road, Cardiff Road Ditch, Willow Fork Creek and East Fork of Brookshire Creek – UDAS-NCRS Agreement No. NR187442XXXXCO29.
Work is expected to commence in mid-May.
At the April 8, 2019 7 PM Board meeting, the Board voted unanimously to reject the single bid received for the Harvey Channel Recovery Project. The project will be rebid as two separate projects: First is Phase 1 Cane Island Creek, Bartlett Road Ditch and Cardiff Road Ditch. The Second is Phase 1 Willow Fork and Brookshire Creek. Invitation to Bid will be published in the Katy Times and Times Tribune and available on CIVCAST.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at Jones-Carter offices on 2322 West Grand Parkway North, Katy TX on April 18th at 9 to 9:30 AM for Phase 1 Willow Fork and Brookshire Creek.
On April 18th from 9:30 to 10 AM will be the pre-bid meeting for Phase 1 Cane Island Creek, Bartlett Road Ditch and Cardiff Road Ditch at the above stated Jones Carter location.
Bids for Phase 1 Willow Fork and Brookshire Creek delivered to the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District Office, 1111 Kenney St., Brookshire, Texas will be opened on April 25th from 10 to 10:30 AM at the District office.
Bids for Phase 1 Cane Island, Bartlett Road Ditch and Cardiff Road Ditch delivered to the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District Office, 1111 Kenney St., Brookshire, Texas will be opened on April 25th from 10:30 to 11 AM at the District office.
Please be advised the bid opening meeting for the Harvey contract was changed to Thursday, March 28th at 2 PM. The previous meeting on March 25th at 11 AM was cancelled.
Sharon White, District Office Manager, has been employed with the District since October 7, 1987. After 31 1/2 years with the District, Mrs. White will retire on April 30, 2019. Joy Shipman was hired as Assistant Office Manager on January 2, 2019.
District Office Manager, Sharon White, reported Brookshire-Katy Drainage District received the audit report for 2017-2018 from Bert Matthews, C.P.A. Mr. Matthews reported all District records were in order and the District received another clean audit.

Permit Applicants – Due to limited storage space at the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District office, please only bring ONE hard copy of the permit application, checklist, drawings and plans, and an electronic copy on a CD when submitting your permit application. Your application fees and inspection fees, if required, must be included at the time of permit application submittal. If required, also bring original tax certificates and title report.
Please submit ALL of the above information to the District engineer, Charles Kalkomey, too, for his review at least 2 weeks prior to the monthly board meeting held on the 2nd Monday of each month.
Each permit application has a checklist to follow and complete. Incomplete permit applications will NOT be accepted.
